Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is your Web Site Secure?
Yes: Throughout the product pages the web site has no specific security measures but when you get to the payment page when making a purchase the web site is absolutely secure. The information that you in-put is relayed through 128bit encryption. We know of no case where encryption of even half this complexity has been used fraudulently. This encryption is similar to the service that is used by the major banks and many other financial institutions.
2) We Want to Buy from You but Have Found a Product Cheaper Elsewhere: What Should we Do?
We believe very strongly that our prices are extremely competitive. This is endorsed by the volume of product that we sell. However there may be instances where you can find a product cheaper elsewhere. If this is the case please contact us URGENTLY as we will always try very hard to beat any other price for a similar product. Remember our prices include VAT and Delivery (There is a Delivery Charge for Lugarde Buildings to Scotland)- many of our competitors hide these costs in the detail!
3) We want to Buy a Building but are Not Happy to Pay in Full with Order - especially in View of the Extended Lead Time on Delivery?
This is not a problem at all. Please contact us on Garden Building Sales or phone: 0845 258 1900 we are always pleased to arrange a deposit payment with order and the balance to be paid a few days prior to delivery once the delivery date has been confirmed
4) Are your Buildings Delivered Complete with All Parts?
Yes: All of our buildings are delivered complete with all parts. The only additional costs that you need to consider when building one of our buildings are:
a) Base Preparation: All buildings require a firm level base that never has water standing on it. There are many suitable bases but for larger buildings we would always recomend either concrete or concrete flagstones. For buildings of over 28 - 30sq/m we would recommend concrete as it is very difficult to get flagstones level over this type of area. Details of base preparation can be found on each product page.
b) Timber Treatment: Most large buildings are delivered untreated and will require the application of a good quality timber treatment. There are a number of buildings in the Pressure Treated section. These buildings do not require any treatment unless treatment is suggested in the literature accompanying the building. Sheds and Dip Treated Product: It is always advisable to view dip treatemnt as a temporary treatment and the building should be treated with a further treatment within 3 months of delivery.
c) Electrics, plumbing etc and anything else that you may want to put in the building
In all cases: Follow manufacturers Instructions as supplied when the building is delivered.
5)Do you Offer an Assembly Service for the Log Cabins and Summer Houses & How Difficult is it if We Choose to Assemble the Building Ourselves ?
The Answer is that we do not offer an assembly service ourselves. We do however have a number of independent contractors whom we can recommend to assemble the buildings but the contract for assembly exists between yourself and the service providing company. All the companies that we recommend are companies that are experienced & have worked for our Customers in the past and have been recommended to us by former customers. Payment for assembly is direct to the service providing company on satisfactory completion.
All of our buildings are designed to be easy self assembly and all are delivered in factory prepared kit form. The assembly process for reasonably competent diy customers is really fairly straightforward and, remember if you get stuck with anything, we are only a phone call away and can help with any problem. Assembly for most of our mid-sized cabins can easily be done by two people in two days. Larger cabins will take a little longer, for example the Lugarde Daisy and Daphne Cabins may take upto four days for two reasonably competent diy assemblers with basic tools.
